Hoya Mathilde

국표에는 없으며 국표에는 국표에는 정명으로 호야(Hoya carnosa (L.f.) R.Br.),호야 픽타 그룹(Hoya carnosa Picta Group),랑케올라타 벨라호야(Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella (Hook.) D.H.Kent) 3종이다.

 

This is a cross between H. carnosa and H. serpens that is a very nice plant.  I find that its difficulty level is also a mix between the two – It is not nearly as easy to grow as carnosa, but not nearly as hard as serpens can be.  It was a plant that I had high expectations for, but it never quite lived up to them.  I do however still keep the plant and would encourage you to try it as well.  A well-grown ‘Mathilde’ can be quite spectacular when all in bloom!

Hoya Mathilde Flower

The hoya mathilde produces hairy, pale yellow flowers with raspberry colors centers. The have a sweet floral smell, almost jasmine-like.

Hoya Mathilde Vs Serpens

They both have green leaves with speckled variegation, but the obovata has bigger leaves which are more rounded at the end, the mathilde has smaller leaves that are round but slightly pointed at the tip. For more on the obovata see our guide: Hoya Obovata
