Anemone debilis is a perennial herb of the genus Ichirinthus in the buttercup family.
Features
The rhizome crawls sideways, swells in a spindle-like shape, and is constricted in places. The root leaves are three-leaf compound leaves at a time, and the leaves attached to the stem are three-leafed. The leaves have a short peduncle, three-lobed, and the edges are serrated.
The flowering period is May-June, the height of the flower stalk is 5-15 cm, and one flower with petal-like sepals with a diameter of 1 cm is attached. The sepals are oblong, white, 5 pieces. There are no petals. The anthers are also white. The fruit is a slender fruit with fine hairs.
Distribution and growing conditions
In Japan, it is distributed north of Hokkaido and the region of Honshu, and grows on the forest edges of subalpine coniferous forests, alpine pine forests, and sometimes in moist grasslands on ridges. In Asia, it is distributed in eastern Siberia, China (northern and northeastern regions), Korea, Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
