Shrublet or perennial herb, corky at the base, 0·2–0·6 m. tall, with conspicuous glandular dots in all parts, aromatic. Leaves simple, alternate; lamina 8–32 × 0·9– 1·4 mm., linear, blunt at the apex, entire or 3 (5)-fid with the entire leaves localized at the lower part of the stem and extremities of the branches; petiole 0–8 mm. long. Inflorescence of racemes or axillary and terminal panicles. Flowers yellow; pedicels 3–5 mm. long (elongating to 15 mm. in fruit). Sepals 4, 1·3–1·6 mm. long, ovate, slightly united at the base. Petals 5·3–5·7 × 3·3 mm., free, imbricate, elliptic. Stamens as long as the petals; anthers small, ovate, with an apical gland. Ovary 1·5 mm. long, subglobose; style 3 mm. long. Fruit 8–11 × 5–6 mm., coriaceous, 2-lobed, somewhat compressed; loculi 4–6-seeded. Seeds 1 mm. in diam., subreniform.
