Myodocarpus fraxinifolius

Obviously named by someone who was reminded of trees back home, this shrub from central and southeastern New Caledonia does indeed have pinnate leaves like an Ash tree (= fraxinifolius), serrated around the edges. Like Myodocarpus crassifolius it forms tufted crowns of foliage with long, gangly, sparsely branched stems. Mature plants burst into flower seasonally and then look like floating clouds of white and green. This plant has a lot of potential for ornamental horticulture and will adapt to most warm temperate and many tropical climates. It prefers full sun and ample moisture.
