Hibiscus Sunset Yellow

A genus of hardy and tender annuals, evergreen and deciduous shrubs or small trees. The tender, evergreen species such as H. rosa-sinensis, are popular conservatory or house plants in temperate climates. These plants require winter protection in these cooler regions and can be grown as pot plants. The hardy species such as H. syriacus are suitable for annual or mixed borders. 'Sunset Yellow' has glossy leaves and solitary flowers in summer and autumn. The 5-petaled flowers are 10 cm in diameter, yellow in colour with a dark red center with prominent orange-tipped anthers. It does not tolerate temperatures below 10C.
