Lockhartia oerstedii

Lockhartia oerstedii is a species of orchid native to Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. The species usually grows in mountain forests.

It is found from Mexico to Panama and Colombia as a caespitose, medium sized, cool to hot growing epiphyte from dense jungles up to 2600 meters in elevation and has a long zigzag stem carrying imbricate, distichous, equitant, semitriangular, obtuse or acute leaves with an axillary, pendant, to 1 1/2" [3.5 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising from the upper leaf axils occuring at any time of the year that has cordate-semi-orbicular, apiculate, amplexicaul, glaucous bracts and needs more shade and water while growing but always keep damp.
