Clematis Bourbon

The red 5-6" flowers with intense pink bars of Clematis Bourbon highlight the contrasting yellow anthers. Blooms July to early August. Shorter in length, this variety is perfect for growing in containers but equally content when grown in the ground and clambering up a smaller trellis.

Gracefully meandering over fences, trellises or through shrubbery, Clematis supply vertical interest. Every perennial garden should have at least one of these incredible vines.

Clematis hybrid

A gorgeous large flowering clematis producing an abundance of shell-pink ruffled blooms with chocolaty tinged red anthers. A vigorous climber, its free-flowering from June to September. The Hagley Hybrid is a smaller growing clematis with a mature height of 2m so is ideal for growing in container. Regular pruning will encourage strong growth and allow you to manage your clematis to the height and spread that best suits your garden. Clematis like to be planted where they can get plenty of sunlight but prefer to have their roots kept cool and shaded so at the base cover with a layer of pebbles or low growing plants. The young shoots can be troubled by slugs and aphids. Phlox paniculata or Scabiosa have similar flowering times to Clematis so will keep the roots in shade with the added bonus of discouraging slugs. Plant petunias, garlic, chives or onions nearby to deter aphids. 30-35cm plants supplied in a 9cm pot.
