Origin:Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1977).
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1983 as 'Konrad Henkel'.

Class:Hybrid Tea.  

Bloom:Red.  Flowers velvety red.  None / no, strong fragrance.  35 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, large, double (17-25 petals), full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Habit:Bushy, upright, well-branched.  Large, glossy, semi-glossy, medium green, dark green foliage.  
Height of 3' to 28" (90 to 70 cm).  Width of up to 16" (up to 40 cm).

Growing:USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
