This species distributed in Brazil in Amazonas, in Suriname in Nickerie and Saramacca, and in Venezuela in the states of Amazonas, Bolívar, and Guárico (Hunt  et al. 2006). It occurs at elevations between 100 and 500 m asl (Taylor 1991). It is known from many disjunct localities throughout its range. In the northern portion of the range it occurs in the Llanos and in the south in the Amazon forest (on rocky outcrops).
