Clerodendrum adenophysum Hallier, Meded. Rijks.-Herb. 37 (1918)

Latin for 'with glands on bumps'.

Description
Understorey tree up to 11 m tall and 13 cm dbh. Stipules absent. Leaves opposite, simple, tripli-to palmately-veined, usually glabrous, leaf base often cordate. Flowers ca. 17 mm diameter, white-pinkish, with corolla tube, placed in panicles. Fruits ca. 7 mm diameter, green, drupes.

Ecology
In secondary regrowth and open sites in mixed dipterocarp, coastal and sub-montane forests up to 1500 m altitude. Usually along roads, rivers and streams on sandy soils, but also on limestone.

Distribution
Thailand, Sumatra, Borneo (throughout the island).

Local names
Borneo: Kuliat, Pangir putih.
