Found in Java, Borneo and the Lesser Sunda Islands in lowland and hill dipterocarp, kerangas and riverine forest at elevations of 800 to 1100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a decumbent becoming upright, green to purple stem carrying 10 to 13, lanceolate, acuminate, bronze to green, 5 prominent veined, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, to 16" [to 40 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence.
