Nolina greenei is a species of plant in the asparagueae family. It is native to North America.
Description
It is an almost stemless, grassy plant, in vertical rosettes, with subterranean, branched caudices. The leaf is wire-shaped, hard or a little lax, concave-convex, 45-90 (-110) cm x (4 -) 5-8 mm, non-glaucous, margins remotely with cartilaginous teeth. It is 0.5-2 dm escape. The inflorescences paniculate, with persistent bracts. The flowers have white petals, sometimes with purple veins, 2.2-3.3 mm. The fruit in hyaline, thin-walled capsules. Bronze seeds with red tint, round.
Distribution and habitat
Flowering occurs in late spring, in rocky places, limestone slopes, in volcanic flows, among junipers, stone pine and oak forests and in adjacent grasslands; at an altitude of 1200 - 1900 meters in Colorado, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
