Lilium medeoloides A. Gray is a genus of lilies in the family LiliaceaePerennials .

Features

The white bulbs are spherical in shape, about 2 cm in diameter . The height of the stems is 30-100 cm. The size of the flowers is 5-6 cm, 1-several pieces grow alternately at the top of the stem. The six perianth sepals are orange with dark red spots. Pollen is reddish-brown. The flowering period is July-August. 6-15 leaves grow in the middle of the stem, and 3-4 leaves are sparsely attached to the top. The fruit is inverted ovate, about 2 cm long.

The Japanese name is derived from the fact that the leaves that grow on the stem are likened to the wheel (ya)
