Aster viscidulus, or aka: hakonegiku(scientific name: Aster viscidulus) is a perennial plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. It grows naturally on the grasslands in the mountains of Kanto to Chubu. The leaves are green and have an oval oval shape with shallow serrated edges. The leaves stick to each other 90 degrees above and below. In summer, a white or lilac flower blooms at the tip of the flower stem. The name “viscid” (“sticky” or “sticky”) is attached to the species name because of the sticky hair at the base of the flower or bud.
