Its cultivar 'Blackthorn Apricot' has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Many other cultivars that vary largely by the color of their flowers are available, including 'Ruby Field', 'Lilac Belle' and 'Rupert Lambert'.
