Cymbidium sinense (Jacks) Willd., 1805 is a plant of the Orchidaceae family native to East Asia. 

It is a small orchid, often minimal, with predominantly epiphytic behavior on the trees of the tropical forest, but sometimes also lithophyte, where it goes to collect some fertile humus in the crevasses. C. sinense has ovoid pseudobulbs, which carry narrow, linear, acutely apex leaves of light green and glossy color. Flowering normally takes place from autumn to spring, by means of a basal inflorescence, racemose, up to 80 centimeters long, covered by overlapping sheaths and carrying about twenty flowers. These are on average 5 centimeters large, fragrant and have very long lanceolate sepals of red variegated with green, petals much smaller than the sepals and trilobed labellum with raised white-yellow lobes spotted with dark red

C. sinense grows in Asia, namely India (Assam), the eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, southern China (Hainan), Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
