Caesalpinia angulata is a species of legume in the Fabaceae family. It is endemicto Chile.
It is a deciduousshrub in summer up to 1 m tall, globose, with erect, angular and glabrous branches. Bipinnati-compound leaves, 2-3 pairs of pinnae, these, in turn, with 5 to 8 pairs of elliptical leaflets, glabrous. The flowers are arranged in terminal loose racemes10-15 cm long. Calyx with 5 dark red sepals; corolla with 5 yellow petals, the upper one with spots or red lines; Androecium 10 stamens. The fruit is a legume 4-6 cm long, flat, dark red, with black glands, which turns light brown when ripe; has 2 to 3 heart-shaped seeds; They ripen in late spring and early summer.
It is endemic to Chile. It is found in the Atacama (III) and Coquimbo Region (IV).

Etymology
Caesalpinia: generic name that was given in honor of the ItalianbotanistAndrea Cesalpino (1519-1603).
angulata: Latin epithet meaning "angled, angular".
