Schizanthus hookeri Gillies ex Graham식물/들꽃-가지과(Solanaceae) 2022. 11. 25. 14:13

An intricate flower in a delicate color. In the golden hours of dawn & dusk, these little “butterflies” really glow! Blooming thru the Summer months with sprays of many flowers at a time, flowers are a light mauvey color with a golden center. Though this species from Chile is often described as an annual, we consider it to be a short-lived perennial here by the bay. Schizanthus hookeri tolerates more sun & more drought than other Schizanthus we have grown, but I would not go so far as to say that it’s a drought tolerant plant. Grows from 1.5-2’ tall & wide & can become almost shrubby!
