Chirita Vespertilionis

Known as the “Red Butterfly Wing”. Place this stunning little plant in a breeze and you will soon understand why. The leaves flutter giving the illusion of a butterfly.

I must admit to not really understanding the fascination with this plant UNTIL we grew it! Until it was healthy and happy – now I LOVE it.

These are triple planted – yes 3 plants in each pot. This gives you a really nice specimen. The plant you receive will be in a 100mm (4”) pot and look similar to these in the photos.

This Christia needs strong light to full sun. And, if it gets too long (especially when it flowers), just give it a cut back and it will re-shoot and clump even more.

It’s that time of year when the Christia flowers – so your plants may have some flowers when they arrive. The flowers are not that spectacular and so cut them off at any stage. When you cut them off, cut the plant back by a third to a half – this will cause it to re-shoot and bush out.
