Who does not know the Caen Anemone, with its somewhat outdated charm, and pretty flowers with a black heart, in a palette of bright colors, ranging from purple to white, through pink and red? Here it is brought up to date thanks to this Anemone coronaria Sylphide, a luminous fuchsia pink, whose black heart has surprising dark blue reflections, highlighting the graphic side of its flower! An erect bulbous perennial plant, anemone coronaria is native to the Mediterranean basin to Western Asia. Very easy to grow and quite rustic, it will be ideally placed in the sun, although it also likes half-shade where its sparkling colors will work wonders! From the tuberous stump of this Sylphide anemone, stand one or more floral stems, slightly hairy, 30-40 cm, each ending in a single flower 3-7 cm in diameter, under which three long and narrow leaves form a serrated collar. Its basal foliage, in rosette, is deciduous. It consists of dark green leaves, deeply cut, measuring 5 to 15 cm long., From April to May, the flowers, of a magnificent carmine pink, with a heart garnished with a crown of stamens, black-bluish, appear. The color of the petals tends to fade at the end of flowering. Once wilted, the flower produces fruits in achenes, and can thus naturalize in the garden. Then, the plant dies, but will reappear the following spring, and this for about 5 years in a row.
