Remember the tall “Sweet Williams” - those treasured biennial plants for the border since great grandmother’s time & before? Sadly, they have become almost impossible to find with the introduction of modern dwarf strains in recent years. But hey, we can fix that. These 2’ tall & 1’ wide lovelies bear large, dense clusters of velvety, dark crimson, single blooms each with a white eye on nice stiff, upright stalks (perfect for cutting!). Beautiful planted in groups or partnered with Omphaloides linifolia “Venus’ Navelwort” or Asperula orientalis “Blue Woodruff.” Rich soil is best.
