If you’re searching for a statement plant, then look no further! Cordyline 'Pink Passion' certainly won’t be lost in the crowd - it’s arching, grey-purple leaves are striped with bright fuchsia pink. Unlike many Cabbage Palms, this cultivar has a low, clump-forming habit, producing lots of new stems from the base once the main stem reaches 1m (3’). The evergreen sword-like foliage makes this a superb architectural shrub for containers, or a focal point in a courtyard garden. Cordylines are also well-known for their ability to withstand the salt-laden winds found in coastal areas. Height and spread: 1m (3’).

• Soil: fertile, well-drained soil
• Rate of growth: average to fast
• Flowering period: July to August
• Hardiness: half hardy (will need winter protection in colder areas)

Cordyline 'Charlie Boy'

 

Charlie Boy is available in the UK but it does look very similar to Cordyline Pink Passion. Although the similarities are striking It is worth seeking out Charlie Boy as it is far more cold hardy then Pink Passion.
