Manaca is a tree native to Brazil that blooms in spring. Its jasmine-scented flowers are most fragrant at night. These blooms change as temperatures warm. Upon first blooming, they are purplish-blue in hue. They then gradually shift to pale lavender before finally loosing their color and fading to white just before they fall. That is why it represents the meaning of “yesterday, today and tomorrow”. Sometimes the blossoms on a single branch can be seen at different stages in this kaleidoscopic process. As long as it exposed to sufficient sunlight, the manaca is very easy to grow.
