Long-Leaf Ixora is a shrub with branches hairless. Leaves are opposite; leaf-stalk 1-1.8 cm, hairless; blade drying dark brown, shiny, oblong-lanceshaped, lanceshaped, elliptic, or narrowly elliptic, 15-22 x 3-4 cm, both surfaces hairless, base wedge-shaped to blunt, tip pointed to long tapering; secondary veins 8-10 pairs; stipules persistent, shortly united around stem, ovate, 2-3 mm, pointed with arista 3-5 mm. Flowers are borne at branch-ends, in corymbs, 12-17 cm wide, finely velvet-hairy to hirtellous; flower-cluster-stalk about 1 cm; bracts narrowly triangular, 1-1.5 mm; flower-stalks 0.5-3 mm. Flowers are stalked, sepal-cup becoming hairless; hypanthium ellipsoid, about 1.5 mm; limb lobed for up to about 1/2; lobes triangular, 0.5-1 mm, blunt. Flowers are orange-yellow to dark red, outside hairless; tube 2.5-3 cm, in throat hairless; petals ovate, lanceshaped, or elliptic, 1-1.2 cm, pointed. Drupe is spherical, 9-10 mm in diameter, becoming hairless. Flowering: July-September.
