Habitat: Tundra, rocky, gravelly soilsGrows to 8" with bluish-purple flowers on one side of the stem. Leaves are narrow and entire. It only grows in central and southwest Colorado.

Some websites and descriptions indicate this species has hairy anthers. This is not the usual character state, and may be the result of hybridization. Other species in the Habroanthus group hybridize, and may pass on the hairy anther state via introgression. (Andi Wolfe - personal observation)
