Anigozanthos pulcherrimus or yellow kangaroo paw is a grass-like perennial herb that is native to Western Australia, from Perth to Geraldton. It can grow up to 1 m (3 ft 3 in) in height. Anigozanthos pulcherrimus has yellow flowers that appear from October to December.

Leaves flat, 70-430 mm long, 6-15 mm wide; bristles or hairs on the leaf margin absent, with at least some small side branches at the base; hairs on the surface of the leaf present. Scape present, hairy, 340-870 mm long. Inflorescence subtended by a bract 15-25 mm long, with several flowers; floral bracts 6-6.5 mm long; pedicels present, 3-4 mm long; flowers 25-35 mm long. Perianth hairy, bilaterally symmetric, uniformly coloured, yellow, with six more or less equal tepals, the inner segments 7-10 mm long. Stamens six, in three levels, in pairs; filaments 4-5.5 mm long; anther 2.2-3 mm long, without an appendage. Style 17-24 mm long. Flowers in October, November or December. Occurs in the Geraldton Sandplains, Swan Coastal Plain and Jarrah Forest IBRA bioregion(s), of the South-west Botanical Province.
