kielmeyera sp.식물/들꽃-칼로필룸과(Calophyllaceae) 2024. 10. 18. 10:06
국표에 없다.
Origin: Brazil: in all its central portion and adjacent states, from PR, BA to RO;
Family: Calophyllaceae;
Ecology: group of rupicolous or terrestrial species, tropical, latex, native to open, sunny and windy environments of grassland formations (including rocky grassland), savanna (including restingas) and even forest (such as riparian forests) within the domains of the Amazon, the Caatinga, the Atlantic Forest and, mainly, the Cerrado. They may present xylopodium and trichomes.
It is the most expressive genus of the Calophyllaceae family in the Cerrado, with more than 20 species, some with medicinal potential, such as the rosewood (K. leathery). The thick bark of these plants can be used as cork or as thermal and acoustic insulation. In the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, the paus-santos are present in the Serra do Curral, in the Serra do Rola Moça State Park and in free areas within the capital itself, which indicates the presence of these plants in an anthropic environment.
Size: trees or shrubs that are generally erect, of different sizes, from relatively tall individuals to others of subshrub size, supported by trunks covered by thin or thick bark;
Foliage: green or slightly bluish-green leaves, simple, alternate and spiral, membranaceous or rigid, with smooth margins, generally large, fleshy and supported by short and thick petioles, which separate the leaf in half by means of a robust central vein lighter than the limbus (sometimes yellowish);
Flowering: cymose, terminal inflorescences, formed by bisexual flowers, generally very ornamental and eye-catching, pentamerous, white, yellowish or pink (Kielmeyera rubiflora, the field rose, one of the most beautiful flowers of the Cerrado). The petals are asymmetrical and separated from each other and the stamens, numerous, fused at the base and arranged in the center of the flower, can bring a beautiful contrast with them and, therefore, have high ornamental relevance;
Fruiting: woody capsules, of curious shape, which contain numerous winged seeds, inserted in the margins of the valves, compressed laterally and easily transported by the wind - which is usually more intense in places where they are frequent (slopes and hilltops);
