It is a perennial herb distributed west of the Kanto region of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, and grows in the insidious and marshy areas at the foot of the mountains. The stem is 20~50cm high. The leaves are opposite, narrowly ovate, long-pointed. A 5~15mm flower branch is placed at the end of the branch, and the flower is attached to the two leaf-like bracts. The flowering period is September ~ October. The flowers are pale purple. The corolla is lip-shaped, the upper lip is curved, and there is a dark-colored crest at the base. The fruit is 1 cm long. It is distributed in all areas of Tokyo, grows on the forest floor such as secondary forests, plantations, and green spaces, and grows in clusters in some places, but the decrease is remarkable in the ward and Kita-Tama areas.
