ORIGIN: Found in the northeastern cordillera of Boyaca and Norte de Santander Colombia and in western Venezuela in cloud forests on mossy tree trunks and branches at elevations of 1400 to 2800 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, warm to cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse leaf that is narrowly cuneate below into the stout petiole that blooms in the spring and fall on a congested, successively several flowered, racemose, 14 [35 cm] long, slender, erect, triquetrous inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a basal bract and a thin, imbricating, tubular floral bract holding the successive, several flowers well above the leaf.
