Facts
Bastard-toadflax is a hemiparasite, that is, it may attach specialized roots to the roots of a host-plant and derive some nutrients this way, although it also uses photosynthesis. Native Americans used the seeds as a minor food source, and used other parts of the plant to treat colds, canker sores and sore eyes.
