( T. Avent ) Mini hosta plants that are 7″ high and 14″ across. They form a mound of blue foliage the leaves are narrow and ovate shaped, very smooth. Purple flowers bloom on 18″ scapes in mid summer. Nice blue mini hostas, use as edger or in rock garden.

Info	This 1998 cross of Hosta venusta x Hosta 'Dorset Blue' resulted in one of our all-time favorite selections that we christened H. 'Gemstone'. Hosta 'Gemstone' makes a vigorous-growing, but small 5" tall x 1' wide clump of narrow H. venusta -like blue leaves. In midsummer, the clumps are topped with short 10" spikes of lavender flowers. If you like small valuable hostas, add a 'Gemstone' to your garden. This has not been tissue-cultured.
