Antenna Fern-Mickelopteris cordata.-Doryopteris cordata식물/들꽃-봉의꼬리과(Pteridaceae) 2021. 11. 8. 18:49
Mickelopteris is a genus of ferns in the subfamily Cheilanthoideae of the family Pteridaceae with a single species Mickelopteris cordata. Synonyms include Parahemionitis cordata and Hemionitis cordata Roxb. ex Hook. & Grev. The species is native to south-eastern Asia, from India to Taiwan and the Philippines.
The genus name "Parahemionitis" was initially published for M. cordata, but is not accepted by all sources.
Mickelopteris cordata grows from short erect rhizomes covered with brownish narrow scales. The fronds are of two types. Fertile (spore-bearing) fronds have stipes (stalks) that are usually much longer than those of sterile fronds. The blade (lamina) of the frond is usually 3–6 cm (1.2–2.4 in) long by about 2–4 cm (0.8–1.6 in) wide, with a heart-shaped base and a somewhat rounded apex. It is held at an angle to the stipe. Fronds are brownish green on the upper side, brown on the lower side

Doryopteris cordata, called the Antenna Fern, is a tropical, evergreen fern displaying lobed, leathery-green foliage. Forms a low, ground-hugging mound except for fertile fronds that stand well above the foliage.
It’s a great choice in a terrarium, as a houseplant or an annual in most landscapes. Ferns thrive in neutral to acidic, loose, richly organic soil which is moist but not waterlogged. Prefers bright, filtered sunlight and is excellent as a houseplant or in a seasonal container. Protect from freezing temperatures!

A neat little fern with 1" round, lobed fronds that form a mound against the substrate. The fertile fronds are more 'fern-like' and are held on stems 6"-8" above the foliage. Easy to grow with good drainage. Available plants are very small and young and potted in a 2" pot. Uncommon and rarely found available.
