A member of Astilbe x arendsii(Hybrid Astilbe/False Spirea). A group of hybrids developed by famed German nurseryman George Arends. Includes crosses between A. chinensis var. davidii with A. astilboides, A. japonica, and A. thunbergii. The resulting hybrids comprise over 95% of all Astilbe sold in the USA.

Astilbe x arendsii ‘White Gloria’ is perfect for that shady spot that could use a pop of pure white. Sparkling clean white Astilbes are rare, so ‘White Gloria’ is a brilliant find. Topping out at a midsized 25-28”, this ultra-hardy (Zone 4) performer has tidy, dark green foliage topped by feathery, sterling white plumes that glow. Also known as 'Weisse Gloria.'

Astilbe is a genus of rugged and beautiful plants for part shade that throw lovely flower spikes above Fern-like foliage in summer. Use them in groups in the woodland border, or mass them for ground cover. Bloom varies by variety from mid-June to the end of August; with careful selection, the display can be sustained through most of summer. In evenly moist or wet soil, Astilbes are tough, pest-free, and handsome. The only thing they cannot endure is drought. Astilbe blooms are useful for cutting if they are picked when half open.
