The Fire Lily Plant, Clivia miniata, is native to South Africa.
Clivia miniata are sometimes known as the Fire Lilies because of their clusters of yellow throated,
bright orange or red flowers that rise above the broad, 18" dark green, straplike leaves.
Unfortunately, Clivias are only hardy in USDA zones 10-11 and will not tolerate temperatures that drop much below 50°, so they are most commonly grown as house plants. In the garden, they should be grown in a bright but lightly shaded area and kept reasonably moist during the growing season, but drier during dormancy. In their native environmment, Clivias reside in forests where their thick roots grow through the natural forest litter, rather than sending their roots down into the soil.
With that thought in mind, plant your Clivia in a shallow, spreading fashion and provide a thick blanket of compost as mulch.'식물 > 들꽃-수선화과(Amaryllidaceae)' 카테고리의 다른 글
