Fittonia albivenis 'Pink Forest Flame' is an evergreen perennial cultivar from the Acanthaceae family. In cultivation, it is usually grown indoors as a houseplant, but they can be used as groundcover in mild climates. It's grown for the strikingly-veined, pink leaves and commonly known as a Nerve Plant. This plant is a mat-forming, creeping plant with rooting stems. This little plant is perfect for shady spots! It's grown for the fantastic foliage, coloured pink in this plant. The Verschaffeltii Group of plants is distinguished by their pink or red leaf veins in comparison to the typical silver-white colouring seen in the Argyroneura Group of Fittonia. Coping well with low light, this houseplant may be placed in a shady spot out of direct sun. Check regularly if it needs watering, the easiest way to tell is by popping your finger in the soil and feeling for yourself! Native to South America, where it is found in tropical rainforest habitats. Humidity is important, if the air is dry, place your Fittonia on a pebble tray filled with water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water. This cultivar is protected under intellectual property laws by Plant Breeders' Rights. These provide the breeder of new plants exclusive control over the plant material for a set amount of time.
