ORIGIN: Found in northwestern Ecuador at elevations around 1600 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, ascending to erect ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, ovate-oblong, acute, slightly acuminate, sessile, cordate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall as well as in the spring on a .1 to .15 [2 to 3 mm] long, successive, single flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe.
