Grows on granite screes in southern Wyoming and northwestern Colorado. Narrow basal leaves; flower stocks to 15cm with blue flowers.

Botanical Description

Stems 10-60cm tall. Leaves entire, glabrous, linear-oblanceolate to oblanceolate, 3-14cm long. Inflorescence elongate and congested, flowers 1.8-2.4cm long, deep blue to purplish-blue. Northern Colorado and Wyoming, on gravelly or rocky hillsides in sagebrush or open timber at 2850-3300m. Close to P. cyanocaulis, P. subglaber and P. mensarum.
