Description: Agave utahensisSN|581]]SN|581]] var. eborispina (Ivory-spined Agave) is a small clump forming agave to 20-30 cm talland 30 cm wide with 10-15 cm long leaves that have heavily toothed leaf margins and stout 4-7 cm long, wavy, papery, ivory-coloured terminal spines. When plants mature in habitat they flower in late winter with 1.8-3.6 m tall spikes.
Habit: This is a clustering, but not suckering plant that grows in congested clumps.
Leaves: Upward-curving blue-grey tipped with very long papery spines.
Note: Agave utahensis var. eborispina and Agave utahensisSN|581]]SN|581]] var. nevadensis have most recently been combined with subspecies utahensis and considered a synonyms.

Subspecies, varieties, forms and cultivars of plants belonging to the Agave utahensis group

Agave utahensis is variable over its range and comprises two subspecies, subsp. kaibabensis and subsp. utahensis, the latter of which comprising at least 2 varieties, var. nevadensis and var. eborispina. These varieties are now regarded by some botanists as mere ecotypes or geographical forms, so now they are all synonymized with Agave utahensis, but still considered distinct by collectors for their peculiar traits.
